Why not simply ask who makes a Dakota SL? If you meant not to stir anything up then why pose the question refering to the record buck?
Personally, I couldn't care less which bow someone uses. I haven't used them all so I can't say which one is "the best" for me. I do agree with you that no one brand is right for everyone. You have to choose one to fit your budget and one that is comfortable to shoot.
As for the self pity, poor me I can't catch a break here. No one will let me talk about 10 pts. Leave it at home. It's pathetic. Lots of guys come on here and ask questions about all kinds of bows and guns and do not get into the pissing match that you did. Difference was, they were looking for info, not an arguement.
Big Buck Question
I asked a question about what kind of bow the buck was taken with before I even found out it was a Dakota SL...
and in my opinion it you you guys that turned this into a pissing match as you call it.. I posted a reply to a post that youns could not handle and youns wont let it die...
Do I think TenPoints are the best Xbow NO do I think they have good features YES
Do I think Excaliburs are the best Xbow NO do I think they are simple and easy to use YES
Do I think Hortons or Parkers Barnetts or any of the others are the best NO
I do not think any one brand of xbow is the best
I do not promote one bow over the other I do suggest that the best way to find out which xbow is right for anyone is not to take anothers word for which is best but rather to get to a proshop that carries the different brands and and shoot the ones you are interested in and decide from there..
pathetic is making a statemt that there is only one good Xbow out there..
and that statement was made.. maybe not in those exact words..
I come to the forums for info ,, and I read a post that came accross wrong,, and posted my thoughts on it,,
this amazes me it is ok for you guys to jump all over a person that post somthing that you dont agree with but if someone that uses another brand of xbow ask why you would in their opinion bash it. you rip them and never let it go.. and some of you have posted false info but because you have been accepted on this forum it is let slide ..
it was a false statement that the jerman buck was taken with A TenPoint on turns out it was taken with a Horton,, and since some knew this why didnt they just say so..
I will soon get an Excalibur , and have a TenPoint Accudraw mounted on it along with A TenPoint Proview scope, and possibly even the TenPoint MonoPod.. I wanted for all of this to die out I have askied questions on this forum and gotten a lot of good info here , hopefully you people are as good as I have been told you are and will let this die and maybe whey I ask a legit question will just offer an anser if you have one or share yout thoghts on a topic . and not refer back to my reply to a post that came accross wrong to me..

htoler,
I wonder, you seem to be spending a large amount of time on this forum convinced that not many people value your opinions and that people are against you and the x-bows you like bla bla bla bla....
With all this time writing these long drawn out posts continusly repeating yourself on how tenpoint are great-fantastic safety etc etc etc horton=value for money...yada yada yada and you go on and on. When do you go out using x-bows and gain experience to make substantiated claims from personal experience. look maybe you do i dunno...
you are either misinterpreting a lot of the posts on here or you are self obsessed and think that everyone is out to get yo all the time...maybe something else...
however it is clear u are a fence sitter because you cant determine which x-bow YOU like best...
anyway, u dont have to answer any of these questions becaues i wont read them, not interested in much of what you have to say any more
by the way....Excalibur are the best crossbows...and thats my opinion

htoler I agree that it should not mean that we make a bow or gun without a saftey They should all have one ......... and a god one at that. But my point is, should it be a simple saftey or a complicated saftey. The auto saftey was once part of the excalibur saftey and was dropped because of the possibility of it not engaging. IF it did not engage when the handler thought that it was engaged, it would create a dangerous saftey hazard. Excalibur believed that the manual saftey was more dependable and in teaching the handler to put their saftey on right after cocking the bow would be the most reliable saftey.htoler wrote:.......when it comes to mechanical devices IE saftys no we cannot depend on them soley.. but does that mean we would make a crossbow or gun without a safty???
I work in a factory and know all about not trusting mechanical devices alone..
About the dryfire mechanism, it has been asked for on here for excalibur to add it to the bow. BillT gave a reply as to what or why they did not do it and I can't remember exactly what he said but I do remember that I thought it was a good reason.
Your posts implied that excalibur was not as serious about the saftey factor as the other bow, when infact I know that is far from the truth. I guess I am just trying to show you the other side of the saftey thinking. Me personally, I like simple. I will engage my own saftey and make sure there is an arrow on the rail before I pull the trigger. Almost 23 years with this one bow and (knock on wood ....banging head on the wall

Re: xbows
l patterson this site is hosted by excalibur, but that does not mean the other people that shoot the other brands are not allowed on here. Shooters of all makes and models are welcomed on here and that came dirrectly from BillT himself.l patterson wrote:htoler what did you expect ? this site is hosted by xcalibur not any other x bow maker oh ya i do think xcalibr best bow for the money have a nice day
I am not saying if there is or was any personaly attacks made, but there is no place in forums for personal attacks if you plan the forum to be used as a teaching tool that this forum is ment to be.

I tottaly agree lonewolf, this arguments just feed the rage that we all have insideAnd second of all, I promised myself a little less than a year ago that I'd never get myself into these heated discussions in the future cause they're not good for my health.... *L*
