A "Sniper Drag Bag" for my EXOMAX ?

Post by Rammstein »

Hi,

I'm the proudly owner of a brand new EXOMAX, and I'm looking for a bag to protect and carry "my precious".

Do you think a Sniper Drag Bag could be OK ? I have found that on the web :

Has somobody already tried it ?

have not tried it but have a thought on it wouldnt you have to break youw xbow down to put it into that case ? Excal offers a real nice softcase that doubles as a cusion seat , unless you are looking at taking up less room.. personally if I were going to break my bow down to put it in a case I would want a hard case to protect it, so the string didnt get nicked or snaged and frawed by anything, ot the scope or sight getting knocked out of adjustment ,, this maynever happen but then again murpheys law.. What you need to protect your precious is a hard double gun case, take the two riser bolts out to store your xbow and it goes together in 2 minutes without having to resight the bow.I have used this method for the last 4 years as I couldn't find a hard case for an Excalibur. Cost is also about $50.00 Canadian for this Flambeau Model.

The hard case is not a solution in my case.

I'm looking for a bag which protects the crossbow and which is compact. It has to be adapted to the trekking conditions : progression in woods, mountains... Well, the sniper bag seems to match, doesn't it ?

To protect the string I could use à piece of pipe for instance...

The Excalibur bag could be OK, but it's definitely takes to much room.

Well, if nobody has tried it, then I have to do it !

Anyway, thanx for your tips !

What ever you think will work for you, be sure to tell us how it works out for you. as for your string, I always carry a spare either in my daypack or under my hat to keep it dry.
Rammstein welcome to the forum, there is a wealth of information here and you can provide some of your own info as well.

I use one for the rifle my PD issued me, works good for that. As htoler said though, an Excalibur would have to be broken down to get it into the pack. Not that big of a deal I guess as long as you remember to take the tools along that you'll need to put it back together again.

Lets us know how it works.
