Got my turkey

Post by schnarrfuss »

Well. I finally got my turkey on Friday morning. Went out after a long night of work Friday am and called a gobbler in. Came into the decoy's strutting and gobbling and I let him have it with a load of 3 1/2 inch hevi shot at 20 yards. It's now time to try for one with the exomag and I would also like to get a hunt on video also. What a rush of excitment and adrenelin.Image

Way to go. Great looking tom. Good luck with the excalibur, it's not easy. Had one around me this morning, but could not get a clear shot. Would have been no problem with lead, but a bolt is a different question.

Nice bird. . . I'm still working on my first. But can imagine the rush.

Thanx Bowster, keep on trying and you will get one. Have you been out this week at all??

He was coming in to duel with another one that was 40 yds from me with the hens. He never made it to the fight. He was almost at a run up the field edge gobbling all the way and passed within 15 yds or so of my blind. I heard the gobbles and was set up ready to take a shot on the other bird when I heard this guy getting closer and closer. I saw him at 40 and as fast as I could turn around he was in front of me. Took the shot and he flew across the field, lost power and hit with a thud. Was an exciting morning.
