Understanding the turkey

Post by Bowster »

I'm hoping you all can help me with some turkey education. . .

This is my first season in the turkey woods and have enjoyed every minute of it.

My concern is that I haven't heard a gobble since last Thursday when a trespasser shot a bird I was working and then disappeared. :x

I have heard hens yelping quite a bit but no gobblers seen or heard.

Is it the weather? It turned cold again. Or that its late in the season. :?
If the thrill of the hunt is lost, then I have lost.

gobbleing has slowed down in my area... the best way to hunt them now is to pattern them like a deer ... find out where they go and cut them off... good luck ... i have a buddie watching one for me for friday...
