Help, string adjustment questions

Post by GLC »

I've been shooting my Exocet 200 for a few months now, several hundred shots through it. I noticed when new, the string was centered about half-way between the index marks on the deck.

Now, the string is at the foremost index mark. I assume the string is stretching as it wears and gets used. The string itself looks in good shape, no fraying or unraveling noted.

Using my stringing tool, should I just give the string a few twists to tighten things up and get the string back to the middle of the index marks?

How many twists should it take?

Should I twist each side equally? Try two twists per side then recheck the position?

Or, is there another procedure I need to follow?

Thanks for any tips and tricks you might know.

It's stretching. Just unhook one side and give it a couple of twists at a time.

Thanks!

Took about 8 half turns to get it back in the middle of the index marks. Took it right out and shot it. Just as accurate as ever!!

Yeah, I love it when my buddy says his compound bow is in the shop, "They might be able to get to it in a week or so....."
