Hi Guys,
I thought it about time I shot a few arrows with the vert! I haven't had chance for one reason or another, and felt that I might be getting a bit Rusty! I have been gardening, and tidying up the Homestead and, with Mary recovering from her Operation, I haven't had time for practice. I got one of those compressed foam targets for Christmas, and decided to give it a try. I thought My arrows would go right through it, but was surprised to find that it stopped them!! As you can see from the pics, they pass about halfway through.
Anyway, it looks like I can still shoot a bit! These were the best of about 6 "3 arrow" groups. Not a very long target, but I was happy with them from a measured 20 yards. Trouble is, I am having some real problems with my neck and shoulder-blade, that I am told won't improve, so I may have to sell my beloved vert before long, and just use my rifles! I don't have to tell you guys how good the bow is, and how much I love shooting with it, but I think it is unrealistic of me to think that I will be able to hunt with it. I am in agony now after just a short practice, and that's with it set at just 50#
Anyway, I hope you are all well, and enjoying some great weather. It is nice here at the moment, but anything can happen in NB
Here are the pics...
Looking at the target...
Not bad after a lay-off...
They go about halfway through...
Second best group...

still hitting target
Hi Diesel,
Mary is doing very well now. She has lost the severe pain in her leg, and the numbness is improving all the time. It looks like the surgeons faith may be justified! We went for a 2 mile walk today, and she had no problems!! We are still walking very steady, but it is great to get out again. Thanks for asking.
Grey Owl, I had a brand new x-bow just before we left for New Brunswick ( Pheonix ) but found to my dismay that they were banned in this Province for hunting, and I couldn't even practice with it in my backyard ( 3 Acres! ). Anyway, BJ set me up with this great vert, and he took the x-bow back. I am still in contact with the minister down here about changing the law re x-bows, and he is looking into it, and has mailed me 3 times with the progress...which is more than I ever thought possible. I have since aquired a couple of rifles, after doing all the relevant courses, and also did the bow-hunters course a few months back.
I love the vert, but I'll be 60 this year and can't see me being able to use it much longer. I have Spondylosis which affects the muscles in my neck chest and back ( According to the specialist) and a few pulls on the vert certainly makes me sore.
