saw the stock off ??? !!!!

Post by lynnbo »

I'm thinking about sawing the stock off of my exocet 200 leaving only the pisol grip to make it more handy in my canoe at close range.. I have been shooting it out away from my body like I do my heavy contender pistols and I believe it will work especially with a 42 mil dot sight ... Is it a sin to do this to such a fine weapon ???

Ps there are no restrictions in the Oklahoma saying you can't do this ,,,

more to come on this !

I have seen an Excalibur crossbow in Germany with folding stock. Maybe a solution for you. The owner had done a nice job installing it and I wish I had take a picture of it. But the owner said he didnt win much space because of the long limbs on the Excalibur. But maybe thats enough to fit in your canoe. But I must say that I would never shoot seriously without the support of a stock. That is something I learned in the military. We where testing out different assult weapons, both with the stock and folded. And different calibers and distances. I would never shoot without the support of the stock at any range if I have the posibility.

Thanks for the excellent input ,, I will not jump to any conclusions to quick ,, I may try to order a second factory stock from Bill to hack on ,,, And you are correct about rifle stocks and accuracy offhand ,, I have been shooting from my monopod both sitting and standing with good results too.
Stock is still intact for Now!!

lynnbo I think that the ballance of the bow would be greatly effected by cutting off the stock. If you really want to cut off your stock and is looking for a second stock, check the forum. Many members have bought a wood stock from Mark on here. Might be some of them would be wiling to part with their orginal. But if I was you, I would go with a wood replacement and have it made to exactly what you want. It will look much better and not like a modified stock.

Just my opinion ............... Good luck
