Sorry about the quality of the picture, but it was late and getting dark. I drove throught the Yorktown VA Battlefields tonight to look at deer. I must have seen 75-100 adult does. The odd thing was I seen less than 10 percent of them with fawns. I seen groups of up to 15 without a single fawn. The doe in the picture appeared to be pregnant, she was very fat and her belly was hanging low, plus I could she milk sack/nipples. I would have thought the does have dropped their fawns by now unless they were breed real late (3rd rut maybe). Is it possible the National Park Service could have used some type of birth control on the deer herd or they just haven't dropped. Virginia deer typically drop fawns in early June. Do you think they were breed late or birth control is being used.
