Outlook - 2007 Spring / 2006 Fall

Hello gentlemen,

With the recent ritual closely upon us, I thought it would be a good thing to communicate with others, Possible to compare notes and practices. and maybe understand at what the herds are shaping up too be.

The area I turkey hunt has seen mass growth within the last few years. Roults # are being recorded at a very favourable rate. The main bush is hardywoods, with a little swamp  mixed in. The winter was not all that harsh for them either. Feed: everything there legs can get at.

Great numbers and looking like a good mix in Genes aswell. talked to a few black angus farmers last weekend, and some "big ones comin' outta that thereee swaaammp" . Two quote the words exactly. might just be buckfever, but atleast im not the only one suffering! :D

Pictures will follow with this shiny new camera.

Deer numbers are up here in Va along with the number of decent shooter bucks since more and more people are growing plotys and only taking mature deer.

There must be a good acorn crop this year since deer arent hitting our soybean fields like last year. Espically right now. About a month ago you would see 25-30deer in a 40acre field. Now you only see 6-10 out there grazing.

turkeys are everywhere here also...

the only bad thing about VA is the buck to doe ratio. Its about 10doe to every buck and thats at the min!
