Laser 2 Bolts

Post by deerman »

I just got my new Laser 2 bolts to fletch but the insert is brass. This has made the bolt very front heavy even without a field tip or broadhead. Has anyone had this problem or did they just package the wrong inserts?

The brass inserts are supposed to add more weight to the front of the bolt.

You can buy Gold Tips with either aluminum inserts or brass inserts.

Cool :) Good luck. Jeez now I feel like going outside and shooting too. I think I'm gonna go try some 40 yard shots.

I find that the brass inserts are great.

Front weight positively effects arrow flight.

I also like that you end up with a heavier weight shaft which adds to kenetic energy.

I second that. IMHO the Laser II with aluminum front insert is a tad too light for my liking, even with a 125gr tip it only weighs approx 390gr. I prefer bolts weighing between 416-435 gr.
