Noise Dampening
Moderator: Excalibur Marketing Dude
I have a Vixen.
I have the factory string. I put cat whiskers on the string and wound up with then 7 inches from the rail. I put the large Sims limb-savers on the sides of the rail just below the string, centered on the string. I have the large limb-savers on the belly of the limbs as far out as they will go. I have the small(recurve) limb savers on the back of the limbs butted up against the limb hold down bar. I have a Simms hold down spring silencer on the hold down spring. I am not absolutely sure all this really makes the bow quieter, but, it has greatly changed the frequency of the noise and there is simply no felt viberation.
I am not sure how much speed all of this cost me, but, I am getting 265fps with a 438 grain bolt and 260 with a 455 grain bolt,
and I am well pleased and satisfied with that performance.

I never was as good as I used to be.
