??? suggestions

Post by Liddle01 »

I want to start shooting with my boyfriend who just bought an exomax. He is able to hunt with a xbow in Texas because of an injury that caused permenant damage to some discs in his neck. I cannot hunt with a xbow but want to target shoot with one. So my question is - what is a good inexpensive xbow for that. I'm pretty small - only 5'2" and a small frame. I bowfish with a 45 pound recurv and don't have any trouble - at least not until the end of the day :)

Look at the Excalibur Vixen. Very inexpensive in the long run as it will last for years!

I would look seriously at vixen model if I was you. And also, you will have enough power to hunt with it if you want to do that on the future.

I will get the excalibur rope cocking aid with any excalibur model I would choose to buy. It turns a breeze to cock the crossbow and ensures that you will have accuracy.

As Bstout said, forgot about other cheap crossbows brand, like those chinese 99.99 crossbows. I have one that I bought on the past and I got much more trouble with it than fun.
I'm all for gun control. To me, gun control is putting 2 bullets in the same hole... UNCLE TED

I target shoot (WCSA sporting) and I do it with a Vixen. At the moment I cant think of a better "sporting" crossbow. I shoot field target crossbow also but the price range for those crossbows are much higher than the hunting crossbows.

Swede, did you add Dissipator Bars to your Vixen or left it as is? Jack.

I did add the dissipator bars and a special adjustable scope mount. I have not shot it without the dissipator bars so I dont realy know if there is any difference with or without them. Otherwise its original. I like my Vixen alot and I will never give it up.

I hear ya. I will get a Vixen next year to compliment my Exocet and the bonus is my wife and kid can try the Vixen. They don`t hunt, my wife doesn`t like the woods and my son is 6, but maybe they will have fun shooting it :D Jack.
