Buffalo Hunt

Post by WRC »

Need some feedback. I have been invited to go on a Buffalo hunt in February. What i need feeback on is , is my 200 Pound Exomag enough with 2219's and 2 blade Zwickey Broadheads enough to take down a big Bull Buffalo or should i trade my Exomag in on a Exomax to get the penetratration i need and should i use a different broadhead. I will be shooting at about 30 yards from a blind with a heater (LOL) in it. Thanks.

If the broadhead is sharp (and I mean SHARP) and tuned to align with the arrow for perfect flight, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot one with my Phoenix! So the Exomag should be plenty!

You can always check out what Bill used on his elephant hunt has a broadhead, what ever he used should be enough for the buffalo. probably wont need such a heavy set-up like bill used.

Trust me, WRC ... you are FINE with that rig. Just make sure the broadhead is sharp, and the shot is reasonable.

Buffalo are often killed with longbows and recurves getting around 160 fps, so you've got plenty of whump with your crossbow.

Go kill that buffler, pilgrim.

WRC, what kind of buffalo hunt are you talking about, Plains Buffalo here in North America, or Cape Buffalo in Africa??

About 10 months ago I went and shot a Plains Buffalo with my Exomag.
