Congrats Wabi on the doe.

I like your little John Deere tractor. What implements do you have with it? I suppose you use it for your food plot?

Thanks for the congrats everybody!
Some days it just seems to work.
The stand and tractor are the landowner's. His wife won't let him use anything but a ladder stand since he had a fall a few years ago. (tree step broke) He got the stand a couple years ago at a decent price, but it definately takes two men to put it up! We were going to move it to the food plot and shorten it to 10' so my son could use it with me, but where it is seems to be too good of a location to move it. He bought the tractor this summer and got a finish mower, bush-hog, and snow blade with it. It's really handy for cutting trails and dragging out deer. Now I'm trying to convince him he needs a tiller for his garden. Hmmmmm..... might even work for food plots, too!
The shot at the doe was just too good to pass up. Slightly quartering away, and the JakHammer really ripped a hole through her!
Went back this evening with my son to see what was moving and saw one doe and one nice 8-pointer. Only problem was, they were about 300 yards away. Even at that distance his antlers looked like they had some nice long tines and good spread. (through 10x binoculars) Guess I'll spend some more time at that spot. 8)
