Man, I can't believe you guys would sell a precious, once-in-a-lifetime trophy like that for a paltry $500,000. I'm shocked.
I would never do that. It's the principle of the thing, you see.
I'd hold out for at least, oh, say ... $500,001!
I do not doubt the Amishman sold that rack.
The Amish are not known for financial ineptitude.
I bet there'll be another farm in the family, if it's true.

i think its a rumor too, the amish are very reserved but maybe the right dollars would do the trick, from past i have little respect for amish hunters they trespass and hunt where they feel like, a friend of mine had amish workers doing work at his house once, he went to the store and when he came back two of them were missing, when he inquired where they were they said they were hunting on his land, he had a fit and threw them off his land for good, i know they all are'nt like this but ive had numerous accounts myself with them doing stuff just like this, take it for what it is, speedball..............
gone huntin never to return................
sell
I will sell all future rights to any and all huge bucks I may ever kill for only 100,000 this week only. You better get it fast before I am sold out I am a deer killing machine just leave me the meat you can have all the antlers!
I am starting to re-think my replies about what a trophy is and how they should be hunted .
Not really . Actually if I remember correctly, a few years ago a very large antlered buck was reportedly sold for $500 000 but later it was said to be sold for alot less. I as well as others believe that there might be something fishy with this story until I see some proof of the sale.
My luck is that I would get a trophy larger than that one, and get a real offer close to that for my mount ....... well in Ontario it would be illegle to profit from the sale of any part of an animal. You can't even legally sell an old mount that has been around for many years at a yard sale. A friend told me that the MNR went to a BANKRUPT AUCTION for a TRADING POST that went out of business and made sure that none of the mounts, rugs, antlers were sold. They could give them away but could not sell them .
Ontario is a great place to live, but we do have archic laws sometimes.

Who knows what it sold for, if indeed it sold? Hard to tell at this stage in the game, but it'll all come clear eventually.
I don't know whether the story is true or not, but I do feel like most Amish men would sell for a significant sum.
As would most of us, I daresay.
For my part, I've got some truly impressive cowhorn racks in my collection.
Any buyers? Starting at $25,000.
