Hunting Report- Piebald Deer

Post by Ben S. »

Got back last night from my hunting weekend. Friday night I shot a button buck. Two of them came up behind me on the same tractor trail I walked in on to get to my stand. The first one got broadside at 17 yds. I shot and watched it drop about 30yds from where I shot him (heart shot). That worked out perfect for the extra antlerless tag I got. That was all I saw the whole weekend. I don't know where they are. I think the corn needs to come off so they can't hide in there. Ric Hardy, a guy that lives up where I hunt (Alvinston-Watford ) and has probably shot more deer then I've ever seen, shot a 6pt Piebald deer. He has hunted there his whole life and has never even seen one. It is pretty cool looking. The back half of it is covered with white blotchesand has longer bristley hair then a normal whitetail. He tried to e-mail me a picture so I could post it here but for some reason it didn't make it to me. I'll try to get it straightened out so I can show you all.
