Another one bites the dust

Post by morepowr »

Took a good size doe the other night, I didn't weigh her but estimate around 150lbs undressed. Went to a spot I have not hunted before and followed some deer trails in and plopped down by a tree. I sat there for two and a half hours and 5 mins after sunset I hear tromping coming my way. At first I thought it was another hunter since I saw another truck in the area, but then I saw her on other side of the hill. 5 min later she was on my hill coming right at me and then gave me a broadside at 15 yards. Whack! Double lung shot and ran 40 yards across from me. Worst part was trying to drag her back to road which was 200 yards away and in total darkness in an area I don't know as well. Ready to have some steaks now.
