Sky Hook Lag Bolts

Post by ICEFISH »

Hi Everyone,
I have been reading this forum for quite a while however this is my 1st post. I have been using Skyhook tree steps for years, I think originally they were made/distributed from Kitchener? Approx 2 years ago it became difficult to obtain the compatable lag screws. Last year I bought some that were made by A.P.I. Apparantly A.P.I. is now out of business. Does anyone else have a source. I tried Brafasco for a bulk order (500) plus and did not have any luck.

I believe our friend Bill T developed these steps and sold the rights to API.....could be wrong but that's what I recall.

API Skyhook replacement lag bolts

Post by Flintlockr »

I just purchased Replacement Lag Bolts from http://www.treestand.com for my Skyhook Folding Tree Steps! They have the original mfr tempered steel lags that API used! I got 20 for $35.00!

Good luck!

API 12mm lag bolts

Post by Flintlockr »

The Skyhook replacement bolts fit perfectly, so... I called http://www.treestand.com and they said the bolts are 12mm. Looks like they corrected the size on their ad.

Thanks for the informative post! I use the same and can't seem to have enough bolts. I made my own steps out of aluminum angle and covered them with hockey tape, they work great. Good bolts are essential though.
