What would you guys pick?

Post by TYE »

My dad keeps asking me which one I want, and I can't make up my mind.

What do you guys think?

I'm debating between the WigWam Blind or the Foxhound Ladderstand or the Bow Dog Ladderstand.

I voted for the ladderstand myself, because I'm a stand hunter when it comes to deer/moose hunting.

That's a choice only YOU can make, TYE...

Do you like hunting from the ground, or from a stand? It's in your hands kid!...

All depends on where you are hunting. Do you need a height advantage where you normally hunt? If so stand. Or do you more so need consealment? If so blind. I would pick which ever one you would get more use of for what type of hunting you do.

Only problem is I'm always hunting different properties. So I'm almost thinking the blind might be a good idea, cuz I could pop it up wherever I go. Where with the ladderstand, I gotta install it somewhere, and won't have it if I'm hunting another place.

I like being up in a stand, but I like the portability of the blind. :?

Tye, I agree its a choice only you can decide. I always prefer hunting from a climbing tree and only use a ground blind as a last resort. Do you use a climbing stand?

I would opt for what works best most of the time.

I've never had my own stand/blind.

I usually just sit against a tree, or against a bush type thing.

I sat in someones treestand on their property a few weeks ago, and I liked the idea of being up in the air.

I like the idea of being closed in if its raining, lol. But I hate the thought of a buck stopping where I can't get a shot with the blind, where I have the freedom of not having windows to shoot out of with the stand.

It's kind of a win / win situation.

I think I'm gonna tell him the blind, because of its portability.

Since we're not always hunting the same property all the time.

How long does it take deer to get used to a blind, or could I just pop it up and hunt that same day.
