Thanks Lonewolf
Am I to assume that the set up didn't shoot well since there was no report on performance. I didn't see how old the post was. I will try to pm him for the response.
Thanks again

Hi Ruttman, I have never had the chance to shoot the Gobbler Guillotine
At a turkey yet.
I have test fired it though. It was very accurate, I was about 1/2 inch off the mark, low.
Only trouble is, when you fire at a solid target, you break the blades.
You can fire a bolt with the blades removed though, and you get the same point of impact. This is the manufacturers recomendation.
I just wanted to check to be sure.
I use a 21.5in bolt. The stirrup is hinged to fold out of the way.

If you want to make things easyer, just bring the allen key for the stirrup with you and take it off after you load your bow. But dont miss, you really have one shot before you have to put your stirrup back on.

It's not the aptitude but the attitude that determines the altitude!

Your research sharing is appreciated, What xbow and bolts are you shooting?. I looked for you on the members list and either I'm blind or your not there. Anyway, now that you replied we can talk. By the way I don't plan on missing, but if I get the shot and do happen to miss I will be richer for the experince.
Thanks again

Rutman, I use Easton xx75 2216.
Bow is an Exomag.
This will be my third season trying with the bow.
Haven't managed to get a shot yet.

Sorry for the delayed response to your question!
Rutman what how much do your bolts weigh you are shooting out of the paradox?

If my memory doesn't fail me because it was some time ago that I did the reasearch and contacted Bill T to see if it would be enough weight. I weighed the factory GT Laser 2's with my expandibles on my powder scale at 417gr. I can't remember for sure what the weight with the zwickey's was so I'll do it again. They do shoot good from the paradox though. Make sure you have brass inserts if your shooting a bow like mine or it doesn't meet the minimal weight requirement.

Has anyone come up with a safe way to carry/store these things? They barely fit into my old bow case, and they definitely will NOT fit into my new one. I'm thinking of unscrewing them all together for storage.

Like I said in the ground blind thread, I've got a long walk to get to my turkey spot and I'd like to have a safe way to transport my guillotines while walking, too.

Something like a flybox for fly fishing would be the first thing I would try.

Guillotine

Post by Isis »

Rutman, I am not into all this weighing bolts and all this tech stuff, so I cannot tell you the combined weight.
Actually I am a very technical person when it comes to alot of things,
including what I do for a living.
When it comes to crossbows personally I don't see the need.
Anything I have shot out of my bow has gone where I wanted it to.
This has everything to do with the bow and very little to do with me I might add.
As for carrying the Gobbler guillotine, I carry it loose in my vehicle, behind the rear head rest in my truck, and carry it in my hand while walking in and out of my spot.
