I found out this morning that the creek ice isn't dependable to walk on yet. Thank goodness it was over shallow water where it failed the test. I did try another section over deeper slow moving water and it also cracked with my weight. That sure is a scary sound when you've carefully worked your way out to about 10 feet from shore then here a crrrrraaaaaaack  The water there would have been about waist deep, and this wasn't a good day for swimming, so I hastily retreated to shore and quit testing. Looks like we're going to add some more snow to the covering we have now. They're predicting a few more inches tomorrow night. All I can say is winter was slow in getting here, but now it's with us!

I love the cold weather. My favorite hunting is cold, snowy, and windy. It really separates the men from the boys. Foul weather forever!

We love the winter, we head up to our hunt camp. I shot this photo of my daughter riding double and my son and Lab in the back. It got down to -25c (-12F) that night. It was nice and toastie inside by the woodstove.
