De-string, then re-stringing question...

Post by arkhog »

I'm new here, been lurking and reading for awhile. Don't have a excal yet, but I do want one. Can't decide on which to buy.
My question is...after you remove the string, if your not going to be using it for a day or two, then re-string it, is there a way to get it back on with the correct number of twists that you may have had in it for correct brace height? I now long question, lol.

Thanks

Instead of taking the string completely of just push it from the the magtips towards the center leaving it on the limbs.

When I take the string off I just hang it on a hat rack (actually an old set of 8 point antlers) by both loops. That way it can't un-twist. When you first re-string it will probably take a shot or two for it to "settle" back in.

If it's only going to be sitting a day or two it's hardly worth unstringing.

take a twist tie and tie the end loops together....that will keep the proper # of twists in the string. :D

I only unstring mine since it usually sits for 3-4months... If it was only gonna be for a few weeks I would leave the string on it. Unless its in extreme heat maybe

I did like above, I hung mine up so it cant really untwist any, maybe 1 loop if that
