O/T Law Enforcement, what do you think about drugs?

I only wish it was cheaper than gas Bob.

My endocrinologist (blood specialist) told me that if I want a drink then drink scotch. It's the purest of all the distilled liquors.

I don't mind following this doctor's orders...Of course ther was a strange word that he included. It sounded like "moderation". My selective hearing kicks in now and again.

Ok I was not going to post on this but..............

I'm reading comparisons.... Marijuana to Cocaine ,,, Please,,, they are not in the same category. I have no problems with marijuana, as far as other substances go,, Opiates in paticular I have issues with them, but I won't get into it, this post was making refrence to marijuana to begin with.

Marijuana is less harmfull than alcohol ( in my opinoin)
Marijuana Grows naturally in some areas of the world( Mother nature), alcohol is a man made substance...
I can honestly say, I have never been around a bunch of pot smokers and have any sort of troubles ie: FIGHTS and Arguments break out,, I cannot count the number of times that I've seen alcohol create problems.
And believe me, I been around my share

But in the End,I say to each his or her own... and be safe

I've always said I've tried everything once,twice if I liked it.I had a drinking problem 20 years ago and beat it,never really had a drug problem,when I was on the road I was around everythin and was able to hit it and forget it but I know some people cant.I would rather be around pot smokers than drunks anyday but i believe anything in moderation.
It's when people let it take over their lives and they neglect their kids and family that it becomes a problem.I pray for healing for these people.
I too have come across pot fields while hunting / scouting and I get a little scared because the good ole boys down here booby trap these areas so I back out the same way I came in.so I guess I'm saying live and let live just dont try to give drink or drugs to my kids or I may loose my religon.

My last assignment was in narcotics, and we busted lots of people for weed. Only once was the only drug we found marijuana, most of the time we also got crack, x, oxy, and heroin along with guns to protect the investment. The distinct aroma of marijuana leads to many drug arrests by officers working a beat on a traffic stop. The smell of marijuana in a vehicle provides the officer with probable cause to search without the trouble of obtaining a warrant from a magistrate. Those arrests often turn into informants for bigger cases that go beyond marijuana. No other drug out there provides as useful a tool to law enforcement as marijuana. Until something else comes along that is more popular and more distinct in smell, marijuana will be illegal.

As for the chemical properties of the plant, nearly everything else people use for altering their consciousness is more dangerous to their physical health. I am not aware of anyone dying of a marijuana overdose. I am not aware of anyone ever giving birth to a "weed baby" who needs an IV of THC to survive outside the womb. A marijuana smoker can quit at any time without suffering from withdrawl symptoms. From what I have seen, cigarettes are more habit-forming than marijuana.

Absolutley nothing the mater with pot and it is not near as addictive as cigarettes....I started smoking pot and cigarettes in my 20's and had no problems quitting pot in my 40's but it took me to age 56 before I could finally kick cigarettes!!! Now you tell me which is worse!!!!! Just my personal experiences and opinion! AS for the HARD drugs, coke etc....I agree that $hit is deadly!!!!!!!!

Back in the day i will tell you i would much rather smoke weed than drink any day of the week. I can smok a joint and still do my every day duties such as work drive my truck etc. Now you give me a couple of beers and thats a way different story cant work cant drive etc. Now the money part i could spend 25 dollars on weed and that would last me a entire week now if i was a drinker every day what would that cost 25 dollars a day or more just my 2 cents.

You Canadian pot-smokers are lucky. BC bud is the most potent plant I ever came across. In one day back in 2001, I executed a search warrant where we got 30 pounds of weed, mexican variety, good stuff by US standards. Mixed in our payload was a quarter bag of BC blue. I signed in the big bags first, and the property room reeked of the stuff. When I opened the baggy to weigh the BC, the smell was more powerful than the other 30 pounds. Everyone in the room got a little contact high from just being in the room with it. If I ever decide to start smoking weed, I know just what kind to get!
