I'm sure that if your friend had shot it, the same Conservation Officer would have your friends you know whats for bookends. I would think the best way out would to report it and hunt the next day in a different area. There will be many different animals that will move into populated areas if they are being forced out of their regular habitat. The less hunters going out gives the troublesome animals a chance to move in and set up their own homes at our expense. Its only the begining. :(

Good point Kitty Kat. In such situations the law has a strange tendancy to put people in a position where they have to defend their actions.
