Monopod for Accuracy

Post by Andre Leblanc »

Has anyone seen aftermarket monopods which mount to the Excalibur for longrange accuracy? I have a monopod that I used for my SLR camera, I'm thinking of drilling and tapping my quiver mount so I can screw in the monopod in order to reachout and touch that 8 point buck!

I use a monopod I got at walmart that came with a gun "V" mount and a camera screw mount. it expands like a tripod leg so the height is fully adjustable. works great and it was cheap!

look in the camera accessory section. I think I paid about 11 bucks for it. I use it for my video camera as well.

Andre,talk to Digger!
He is a member here, and he has adapted a Steddy Eddy monopod to his bow that folds right up underneath it when not in use.
They are not cheap, but this modification to a crossbow is about as good as it gets.

Thanks digger, I can't tell who the manufacturer is? Also, The wooden stock on your Vixen, was tha an option? I'm a wood nut and would kill for wooden stock for my Equinox.

Send Mark (# 42 ) on members list a PM, he makes these great stocks. There might even be a member who will sell you one.

weight of wood stocks

Post by the elf »

Hi Digger----how much extra do your wood stocks weigh than the factory model? Does the extra weight help quiet down the bow? Thanks -----Elf.

Wooden stock cuts noise by half, weighs about a pound more.
