First Xbow deer

Post by Sopchoppy »

Finally got that first one; this is my first time with any kind of bow. The Vortex is something else. Was a 17.5 yd. shot; I was a little high; got excited and used the crosshair; did the job anyway; The Gold Tip II with Wasp Hammer sliced cleanly through 2 rib bones, took out both lungs and came out through the opposite shoulder and stuck in the dirt. He went about 40 yds, downhill of course. What a rush to have a deer that close and not know you are there and the "thwack" of the broadhead meeting up with the hide. Some good eatin' to come.

A big congrats on your hunt. Definitely a distinctive sound when you make that connection!
