scaring deer off

anyone have any tricks for scaring deer off when you want to leave your stand.... last night i had to put in an extra 30 mins because there was still deer around and didn't want to let them know i was in the area

Make a sound like a warble fly ... guarantee you they'll exit stage right. :D

I think in that case the twang of my bow would get them moving, I honestly have never had that problem, I guess I just don't have that much luck.

i've had small bucks stand around a decoy well after dark, some heavy rattling got their attention and they wanted no part of it.

I used my flashlight to annoy a doe that bedded down behind my setup. She didn't spook, but just got frustrated and wandered off.

I tried that - must have sounded like a "SNORT-WHEEZE" because I had 3 nice bucks come in within 5 minutes. :lol:

I can answer that one with complete certainty. Absolutely not. I know of one stand that had six deer killed out of it in three days. All of them we gutted within 100 yards of the stand. It apparently didn't bother the deer at all. After a while it bothered humans more than the deer.
