This one was a very memorable hunt. After sitting till about 7:30am i was freezing and decided to go for a walk. As i walked to the other side of the property just inside the bush i spotted a coyote about 40 yards up the trail. I waited but he continued into the bush. Then i saw a flock of turkeys in the neighbouring field and decided to watch them for a bit. Then as i scanned the field i spotted 2 deer that were coming towards the bush. I was basically stranded on the middle of a wide trail with no cover whatsoever. So i just stood real still and the wind was in my favour as they made there way onto my property and about 50 yards in front of me. I lost sight of the trailing doe but watched and waited for at least 10-15 minutes before the lead one would step into the bush. when she stepped in, she was about 40 yards to my left and was looking into the bush and stomping a bit. Then she walked straight towards me and we stared at each other for what seemed like forever before she gave me a broadside target. I'm still suprised that i was able to draw my bow without getting busted as she was only about 20 yards and i was standing pretty well in the wide open. I released and i watched her bound away and then walk off into the bush(tail up). I assumed the worst and figured i missed but when i walked over to see if i could find my arrow i was pleasantly surprised to find it along with a nice spray of blood in the snow. The arrow broke off the first and last 3 inches of it and the broadhead was nowhere to be found. I then went to get my partner to help with the tracking. Man she went into the thick stuff! shot her around 8:15 and got back home around 1:30pm. My 3 blade Rage Broadhead was lodged in the opposite shoulder.
