you have to make sure they are the right size to begin with and also make sure you dont have them to far up on the scope. If you slide them to close to the scope then it throws off the round shape so they wont stay shut.

I had this problem with all of mine untill I slided them back off about 1/4th an inch

I got some from Dan Miller and they don't work to well I'd have to say they don't work at all they won't shut and when they do shut they won't open somebody makes them with latches and that will be my next try thank heavens he sent the regular covers with the bow they work fine slide em off and slide em on. I tried all the different positions with the caps a little in and a little out but it didn't help

Do as C.F. said. Back them away from the scope untill they will close and stay closed. Then I like to wrap a piece of electrical tape around the edge of the cover and the scope to help it stay in place. It should work for you if it is the right size.

Butler Creek makes good ones! I've had a pair on my .30-'06's Leupold Gold Riing for 12 years of hard service ... and they work just like new.

CrazyFarmer's advice is sound ... don't slide 'em on 'till they're out-of-round! :D

I had some problems too. Learned that if they are too small or are pushed on to far they tend to open. Try pulling them back about 1/4"

yep, you have to make sure they fit right. If they are to tight, they wont close at all. To loose and they can fall off...

from what I see most people jam them up as far as they will go and they wont stay shut because of that
