wabi . . .I just have a hard time turning my back on something that has an 100% success rate.............
I do too, but I'm just not comfortable with using them after that experience. Maybe I'll find another mechanical I can trust, but until then I'll stick with fixed blades. At least manufacturers are working on fixed and mechanicals to deal with the problems of high speed flight.
I will admit I recovered one buck with a poorly placed shot that hit the liver (with a Wasp JakHammer 1 3/4" cut) much more easily than I had anticipated when I made the shot. I knew I had a borderline hit, and that buck only went 60 yards! The damage is awesome when everything works right, but now I'd be thinking 1:10 odds aren't really that great.

Just to stir the pot a little :lol: :P What do you think about the new mechanicalbroadheads offered by Excalibur? They say they operate reliably, (I assume they mean that they will open only after penetration).
I would hope that they have tested these extensively!?!?
