Weather wabi?

Post by Golden Eagle »

Hows your area wabi? I see on the Weather channel your area is getting blasted with heavy snow and drifting. We are still in the rain sleet mix here where I am. They said some 4 foot drifts in Tn. and Ky.

Stay warm.

I am south and west of Wabi by about forty miles and we are getting hammered! :!:

I think his county (Adams) is not getting hit as hard as the counties to the west.

The snow on my deck is at 14 inches with about five to six more inches predicted.

Actually it's not as bad as predicted here, but still a mess. So far we've got 6 - 8" of snow on the ground, but they're is a layer of ice in the middle. I live about 50 miles east and 20 miles south of Cincinnati and the snow is often much worse slightly to the north.
I think the highway crews must be setting back waiting for it to end before they try to clear the highways again. I heard them out during the early morning hours, and by daylight you couldn't tell they'd been there.
I fed & watered my dogs and filled the birdfeeder earlier this morning, so one more trip out to freshen up the dog's water should be the total of my outdoor adventures today.
Should have known to expect this weather, the big brown UPS truck brought me a new muzzleloader barrel yesterday and I want to shoot it and see how it does. One of those situations where I didn't need it, and didn't really want it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Picked up a used T/C Hawken rifle with a very good stock, lock, and trigger (double set triggers), but a badly abused barrel for a price so low I could sell the stock only and make a profit. Made the mistake of calling Green Mountain Barrels to see what they had on sale and picked up a 21" Long Range Hunter barrel (fast 1:28 twist for conicals & sabots) for less than 1/2 of the list price ($212.95 MSRP and I got it for $95.00). Ended up with a rifle that costs over $600 new for less than $200, so I just couldn't let it slip past without latching on to it.

We are just getting snow from this morning on. Getting nasty out. I am sitting on the warm side of the window. I think there will be highways shut down before night. You certainly done a good job of shoveling out you driveway One Shot. Those long handled shovels are fantastic. I think we should stay in , wipe the bows or guns down, watch some tv and plan on better days ahead. Safe hunting for all.

It started coming down more seriously this morning. Husband and son were out snowblowing earlier. It's coming down harder now and they'll have to do it again soon.
