Bear hunt outfitter-Ontario

Post by Toast »

Anyone know of an outfitter that might have a spot for one person for a bear hunt the end of August in Ontario?

Thanks

I don't know what your expectations are, but there is a well-established lodge about 100 miles drive NW of Thunder Bay, ON that offers bear.
I have hunted this area since 1975 and assure you there are some nice animals. We saw bear daily last year - some large ones included.
I'm not a bear hunter - strictly moose - but know a good area when I see one. The main lodge is rustic log with smaller log cabins set up for housekeeping. I'm not sure what other plans they offer, but you would not be disappointed with a hunt here in Northwestern Ontario. Fishing for walleye and pike is great on this lake. Here is a link .....

Tell them that Glenn from Shell Lake recommended their operation.

And good luck!

Hey Toast,

Here's a good outfitter in Ontario you can check out. Send me a PM if you need more information and I can send you Shane's (the owner's) email address and phone number.

P.S. I don't know if he has any Smithwick's beer there but if not I'm sure he has lots of other selections

I emailed Shane. Don't know his location. The other outfitter is a bit too far west with gas prices as they are...

Try this. I have not hunted nor will I ever hunt for bear. I know Jim Wilson well enough (personally) to say he is a simple yet honest and stand up guy. He's quite talkative so be ready to have your wife yell at you so you can get off the phone. He even shows references which is pretty good.
