PRAY for STACY GODWIN'S FAMILY - UPDATED 12:30
Hey, Y'all ...
Thanks so much for the prayers you've lifted up for Stacy Godwin and her family while she lived and since her death. It means a lot to me, and it will to them when I tell them that people all over the US and Canada are thinking of them in this awful time.
I'll speak at Stacy's funeral, so I'm thankful for those of you who will be remembering me in that difficult task. I want to be the very best servant I can be, for God and them. Pray that my words will be the right ones, and that I can be a comfort to them in our weakness. I expect several hundred or more to attend, many of which will be Seniors from her graduating class at school ... so I want to be a good example and positive influence.
Sadly enough, I have done this very thing before, upon the death of another 18 year-old girl who died in an auto accident just prior to graduation. And, having lost my own daughter, I am able to empathize with the grief and pain involved in a tragedy like this. So hard ... I appreciate all your goodwill.
For those who haven't read, I've updated the following:

Stacy Godwin, the 18 year-old daughter of Tracy and LaVonda Godwin of Columbia, NC, died this morning as the result of critical injuries she sustained in an automobile accident in Virginia Beach, VA, on Moday afternoon. The vehicle she was a passenger in was crushed by an airborne SUV in a six-car pileup in Virginia Beach, VA. Stacy was transported to Norfolk General with severe brain damage, and was kept alive via life support until this morning when her failing systems finally shut down.
Stacy and her parents do not meet with my congregation, but her grandmother and great-uncle do, as do a number of her extended family and friends.

Dear Grizzly Adams:
Praying is part of my job description. So be assured
I will remember you all during this terrible time.
