Very nice bird CF, 24lbs is a very big bird no matter where you hunt, I have killed my 2 birds every year but one since we have had a turkey season in my neck of the woods. 22lbs 8oz is my biggest bird to date with an 11" beard and 1 1/8" spurs. The biggest one I have ever seen was 2 years ago that a hunter weighed in the same time I was weighing mine and it was 24lbs and change, it was one big bird :D . There are probly bigger out there but I don't think they are too plentyfull. Very nice bird indeed.

thanks everyone! I think most birds seem to average 18-22lbs. I believe this one packed a few extra pounds since season is still way early and they havent lost much weight yet. The biggest ive seen killed was 26lbs, but my biggest weight before this was a little over 23lbs. Oneday im planning on getting one mounted but right now I have no space to put one LOL

goodluck to everyone else also as the season starts or goes on 8)

Nice bird C.F. Congrats. I shot one about the same size as yours on Monday. He got up and flew off though :( Thats what I get for getting cocky about never losing one before. It was a great day though. I saw 6 all together. 5 were goblers, and I could have shot them all but one. Plus my dad got one that was 18.5lbs with a 9 or 10 inch beard.

A bad day in the woods is better than a good day anywhere else.
