Thanx schnarrfuss he is my best to date. Not yet I took him directly to the taxidermist the very next morning after I got him, and he is still there not finished yet but he said it won't be too long now, there is only 1 or 2 he has ahead of mine. My taxidermist is the one that mounted "The Belleville Buck" the new #2 for Ontario, he does realy nice work this will be the 2nd he has done for me.

PS Did you get your bruiser scored? Very nice deer by the way, cool trail cam shot also.

Thanx John I have my work cut out for me to match or top him this up comming season lol. I may never have another oportunity at a buck of that calibur again you just never know, and thats what keeps me going. I am very fortunate to have a place to hunt in such a good area with good genetics and decent soil.

Yes I did get it scored at the Bow Shop as I was in the "Big Buck Contest" there. It only scored I think around 110 by FROW scoring. Not good enough for the contest, but good enough for me. I did win a prize for "mistory date" in the contest though.

No I am not getting him mounted. Already have one mounted. Had my brother mount the rack for me though.
Here's my mount from a couple years ago.

Very nice deer and a very nice looking mount, he is fairly wide and bleached white rack, was he a december deer? I ask because I find alot of december deer seem to have bleached racks. Did you have him scored?

This is my favorite rack to date. Notice that the main beams almost touch. Stalked up on him bedded in a grass field and got him in his bed. 15 yard shot, 0 yards recovery distance with a vert bow though.

That is a pretty cool rack and great job stocking him that is no easy feet. I would gues that mounted buck might score somewhere between 100-110 but is hard to tell how long the beems are.

Just curious, but how did our winner's racks score? Who did have the biggest? I only want to know so I can maybe see a deer and say that's around 110 or 120 or whatever. Im not trying to take anything away from the contest as it was evaluated and scored on more then just rack size alone and that's a good thing. We all see the Hole in the wall buck etc. but don't know how to judge average deer.

Fishn-Hunter had the biggest score, we'll find out what it is if he ever gets it back from the Taxidermist  After the 60 day drying period mine came in at 138 3/8 gross and 132 7/8 net.
