Bird down!!

Post by MADMAX2 »

I got the first down with the 870, those Winchester HV can reach out. I hunted the first part of the am calling only to have them answer just before fly down then they clamed up. After a couple of hours I decided to visit a dust bowl as I was walking up to it I noticed a flock of jakes and toms walking towards me I set up on the fencerow and waited, the first bird that came in was a jake and when I raised the gun a bird started to putt behind me and the jake started twiching his wings nervously I new it was now or never.I did it,the bird went down a 50yrd shot. I did not have time to check my yardage as I usually do when I set out the decoys, had I known it was that far I would not have taken the shot. Now it's bow time
