Post by fuel80guy »

Heres a set of sheds my brother found.
I measured them with a B&C score sheet.
Anybody got a guess as to what they score?

Without any perspective, it's awfully hard to make a guess. It's best if you photograph the antlers with something else in the picture that can establish a standard to use in guestimating. A short ruler is really good for this.

Undaunted by reason, I've come up with scores of 55 for the left and 61 4/8 for the right.

Actually based on a mounted set of antlers i have in my garage which have a outside spread of 20 inches and a inside spread of 18 inches and also a tip to tip scoreof 6 inches this buck should go high 180's easily and im betting over 190.

I guess around 149. To me it all depends if you took two circumfrences between the g2 and g3 on the left antler or not.

Those lengths are more than I originally gave.

Now I'd go 62 4/8 for the left and 68 for the right.

If they were from a single rack, they look like they'd have quite a spread - something in the order of 20" + , however, side to side differences and non-matched points would significantly reduce the final score. It would mean a gross score something like 150 and a net about 133.

I was guessing 140-145. I'm having a hard time judging them against the table background. How about a picture of them next to something so there is a reference or have someone holding them. They don't look all that big laying on a table.

9 points, not much mass, average height, average spread, desent beams...135, maybe.

I also guess around 140 as well. Can you take a picture with something for reference in the photo?

hey guys i posted these pics on archery talk in the bowhunter forum under my same user name so check it out as there are other pics shown with a tape measure.
I must say i like the excal forum much better than archery talk.
Boy did i get slammed and called a cheat, liar etc,,,.
I was just asking for some help in scoring these sheds.
FYI i held these sheds beside my brothers 149 and they dwarfed them,,,,,so its anybodys guess what this deer will score,,,,,,,if he is still alive.
