Whew!! At least there's no snakes

Post by Wayne B »

Picked out a really good spot a week or so ago, where a lot of toms were gobbling but wouldn't come out of. Snuck in there this morning and as the sun came up I realized I was in a huge patch of POISON IVY. And then the BLACK FLIES started! To end it all a couple of hens led the toms astray. :(

Sounds like my kind of luck  Tye be careful , I am also lucky with poison Ivy . Have never be afflicted . Just read an article in a hunting magazine that said our immunity can go the other way at anytime  So I avoid it if possible .

That's true, Farmer. I always thought I was immune too. But I was always coming into contact with it after my beagles would run through it. They'ed have the oil on their coats and I would get it when I handled or petted them. Eventually I'd be getting a good dose of it every year.

Wayne, if you think you got any on your skin, wash with a degreasing soap, like Dawn dishwashing liquid, or some other degreasing agent.

Yeah I use tide laundry soap. Change my clothes immediately. Went to rubber boots so there wouldn't be any laces. ( got infected that way too ) I scrub the rubber boots with hot soapy water, and then into the tub. What we won't do to persue our interests!
