Try this. . . http://www.hypermiling.com/

We just need to use less gas. We waste a lot. We drive like crazy people.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

It's 3.91/gal (1.01/liter) here today.
As long as there is demand the price will stay high.

In Sweden we pay 2$/liter. I can't really understand how the gas can be that cheap in the states.

Maybe that's because you just have to stick a stick into the ground to get oil. Instead the water is 2$/liter :D

Something tells me that most people in Sweden drive small cars there?

Over here in North America we have lots of big trucks and SUV's that drink a lot of gas. I know people that are spending $150/week to fill up their vechicles. I suspect sales of these big gas guzzlers has declinded sharply and more people are looking at small cars for their new purchases.

Gas is about $3.89/gallon here in Minnesota now. I just let my Avalanche sit in the garage unless I need to use it. I just drive the old Grandam to work and have been carpooling with another guy at work so that helps a lot.
My cousin came up with a Hydrogen gas system he added to his 1995 chevy car that is nothing more than a jar with water and baking soda with stainless wire wrapped in a coil. 2 wire leads going to the battery of a 15 amp fuse. Once the car starts up the current starts generating a brown color of bubbles in the jar (Hydrogen Gas). He adjusts the flow going into the jar by a (bubbler) as he calls it. He has 2 lines running out of the jar that go into his intake manifold and airbox. He has gotten about 50 additional miles (best so far) per tank of gas since he started playing with this. He ran across this at some trade show he was at and just built his own. The only problem he has run into so far is that he is unable to run this on any cars newer than 1996 - something to do with mapping on the computer system on these newer cars that will auto increase the gas flow to the injectors. Seems odd that individuals can come up with things like this and all these car manufacturers can only get 20 to 30 miles per gallon out of their models. :?

We usually drive Volvos and Saabs. Quite big cars according to me and more then the average need for most people (I loved my small Opel Corsa until the day it had all turned to rust). But as I understand it the cars in the states often are enormous. Can't really see what the need is for an Chevrolet Avalanche etc. not many people have the need for a car like that... But I guess we all have to adapt to small Japanese cars in the future...
