small deepfreeze
Have you considered taking a small deepfreeze along. Have done that for hunts to Wyomng - antelope and elk. You plug it in overnight at motel on the way home. Just keep the lid shut during the drive. Has worked for us. Also used for a hunt to south Texas for wild boar.
As a side note the wild hogs are darn good eating.
Good luck on your hunt. ---Bob.

I hunted with an outfit just north of Okeechobee last winter a few times. They have a very "target rich" environment and the hogs are all fat and happy from eating their dairy cows out of house and home. They are called Sunshine Outfitters but I can't find a phone # at this time as it's in Florida at my residence there. Check online etc and if you can't find it I'll dig it up at this end.l
Here is a link to several places in Florida.

When I was hunting in Wyoming we would have the meat processed and frozen, packed in boxes and topped off with dry-ice. Normally we would drive straight through and would only have a couple of steaks or ground meat packages thaw but not all the way through. Only the boxes that were not fully packed with meat and dry-ice had any real thawing. Have you checked into the import rules for meat?

Sunshine outfitters
Just N. of Lake Okeechobee ( and the city of Okeechobee) Call Buck at 863-634-9594 or Jarret at 863-634-8339 for Sunshine outfitters . If you do not get your hog , no cost. Prices this spring were 150.00 each. I think they clean it for another 25.00 I usually leave then $200.00. Good meat hogs, or if you like there are some big bruisers.
This is a working cattle operation with feed troughs in the pastures. You can stand hunt, or after you are familiar with the area slip for them. That is the best. You will hear them and work to them on a pasture edge.
Nice guys, great numbers of hogs. If you drive down, bring enough cooler. They have some groups that use spears. Saw the pics, never done that.
You will have a great time. Hunt is usually only 3-4 hours long. Have alway seen hogs, even when they did not move well.
I think Excal did some filming here a few years back. Buck told me to tell the crossbow guy he said hello.

Hunters do it in the woods.

I highly recommend Osceola Outfitters. I have hunted with them several times. They are top drawer!

Yeahhhhhhhh
Looks like you had a great time....................I have to do this myself sometime. Not in July though! Jan/Feb would be about right for me to escape the minus 30/40 temps in central AB.
