last night at midnight my wife woke up to a bark in the garage, it was our dog, home.
His chain and collar were gone, and he came home wearing a new black nylon collar, sorta weird, but it doesn't really matter, he's home. This is a pretty exciting place to be right now. :D

Thanks everyone for their kind words and Pm's.

  Sounds like he has a second home as well!!! Brampton Mike 8)

That sure is good news. We're still sad from having to put down our shepard last summer, and I was hoping you wouldn't be in for some of the same.

So glad to hear your dog is home!!! I'm sure the forum is breathing a collective sigh of relief! :D

Great that someone helped him out while he was gone!

Our dogs are never off leash unless they're in a fenced area. We keep tags on their collars, but in case the tags get snagged on something and fall off I also write our number in permanent marker inside their collars. I suppose we should microchip too, but we haven't done that yet. I'm a bit paranoid, I suppose, but after watching one of my dogs get hit by a car years ago I prefer "better safe than sorry".

Good news, keep an eye on the dog though, keep it close. We had one "show up" at the end of the second week of hunting, supposedly had spent the week in the bush but was fatter than we ever had her. Makes you wonder.

Great news that he came back but the new collar is a bit strange. As long as he is back with you who cares.

That's great news. I'm sure there was a great sense of relief and joy in your household. Not knowing is tough.

Give him some pets from your forum friends.
