I like the slick trick BH. What do you all think would be the best choice, 100gr or 125gr on GT lasers?
Thanks,

Depends on the speed of your bows IMO. I shoot 100 Slicks in my Phoenix and Vortex (285 and 315 fps) and 125s in my Cyclone (350+) The reason being that I can use lighter arrows with the former two (395 grns) while the Cyclone takes heavier arrows, right around 425. This keeps the trajectory (somewhat) comparable out to 30 yards so I don't have to think twie before I shoot. Beyond that the Cyclone is much flatter, and 50 yards becomes most doable; tho I normally don't shoot that far on whitetails.
Ultimately it becomes how fast you want to shoot and how far. Fast will flatten the trajectory. Heavy arrows will give you somewhat more kinetic energy but a more parabolic trajectory, making hits at 50+ more iffy with bows less than 300 fps.

Good choice, now if you can get some 2" vanes on to those shafts you will have one of the most common, reliable and consistent combinations going.Crunch wrote:Thanks,
The GTs have brass inserts so I guess I'll use the 100's.

mine shot very well with the heavy bolts(430's) but after 30 yards they dropped off way to quick for me out of the exocet. They still grouped excellent(like darts) but I liked the flatter shooting 375gr total setup better.mikew wrote:Call me crazy, but I have GT II's with brass inserts & I have 125 Gr Slick Tricks. They group rather well.
Might be too heavy for some, but I hope to hunt game larger than whitetails someday & I'm already set up.
I had a 185lb Exomag, but now have a Vortex.

I have the equinox on order so ill probably go back to the heavy bolts now
