Great looking rig Robin ! .. The bucket adds a magnum quality to the ones we use now ... would be less fill ups for sure ..

feeder

I've tried PVC and galvanized flue pipe. Like the flue pipe better. 4' section with a metal cap. I use the 6" size and it holds 40-45 lbs. of corn or whatever you're feeding. Mount to metal fence post or 2x4 and drive it into the ground about 3" from the dirt. I painted it camo. Gravity feeds and 40 lbs or so will last 7-10 days. No bears here, just deer, turkey and the ever present squirrls and racoons.

Looks good Robin...I have something similar with a 4" PVC pipe with a cap and on the bottom of it is a 4" Tee "Y'....the y points up and I strap it to a tree about 24" off the ground....it works FANTASTIC in the winter....when those D@#n raccoons are sleeping!! otherwise it is empty in a day...lol

Let us know how it works

Yup it's the same here. At least that's one thing that Ohio has! I don't know what I am going to do this year - corn prices are outrageous! Oh well just do it I guess, but I have throttled back my spinner to 6 seconds twice a day.

Elf,

These pics are very similiar to the feeder I just completed;

I first make the funnel from tin and attached a PVC connector (with one end larger than the other),

Once Ive cut the hole in the bucket I drop the funnel into the bucket with the PVS connector through the hole. The vertical pipe is then cemented onto the exposed connector at the bottom of the bucket;

Hope this helps..............

Elf

Here is a couple more from tonight. I added one pic of the bottom of the bucket and I also added caulking to the design to try to prevent moisture. I noticed a couple of times in my previous feeders that the feed sometimes started to clump...... Not sure if it will work but I thought I would try it....
