the idea is to get something that will let you roll your arrow to see if your BH is straight with your shaft and not out of line....if out of line you will see the point osolating off center....you can't miss even a tiny bit of wobble....i've used two older but straight arrows parall with each other 14" apart as an arrow roller....just roll your arrow down the two and watch the BH.............bob

Typically you'll see arrows with 3 vanes have one of a different color. That vane is the cock vane and the other two are hen vanes.
Since excaliburs use a flat nock, it's not necessary to fletch like that & you can use three different colors if you like.
The thing to remember though is that you want to put the same vane down each time you fire THAT arrow to be consistent.
