O/T - Weekend giving my brother's passion/sport a look see~!

Post by Sandman »

Hello,

My brother's passion/obsession is drag racing. He is addicted to it as much as I am to hunting and the outdoors. He races in the 1/4 mile and I agreed to go and watch his last race of the season........And he is going to spend a day in the stand with me.

We were at Dragway Park in Cayuga this weekend and I must admit....I loved it~! It also was a great opportunity to tune in and get use to my new lens for my camera.....

My brothers beast:

As well as the other half of "Southwest Racing":

Here are some of the other pics taken:

There was some very impressive machines at the track.....

There were cars there that you would have to be rich to own but none the less impressive;

A few other photo opportunities came along as well;

I must say if I were to hang around the track a little more I see being bitten by a little bug...........But it could never measure up to the outdoor bow hunting bite that I received when I was a kid~!

Im not sure on the year I beleive it is an 81 Z...........He races index at 10.80 but he has a hard time keeping it to that time as she wants to do it much faster.

Cool photos!
I'm taking my warmed up 08 Ford Shelby to the St. Thomas Ontario Sparta Drag Strip this Sat. I was in the low 12's last time. Adding about a degree and a half timing to my custom tune and cooler fall air might get me into the eleven second range, I'm hoping. We dyno'd this week at 560 RWHP or 640 HP at the crankshaft. The car gets 27 mpg when the cruise is set at 100 kph or 60 mph( under good conditions). Not bad for a car that
makes almost 650 hp.

Nice pics. Love the drags. Hopefully i'll have the money this summer to find a car to start building up. But im looking more for a 69ish dodge charger or challenger.

None the less love the z28's.
