Little Bear & BIG BEAR

Post by MasterCaster »

Here is the 200 Pounder I shot over a bait an hour or so north of my place.

Image

Thanks to My Buddy who set the bait sight - Ray - I got my first bear.

I baited @ noon and after thinking about all 3 baits being hit I decided to come back at just after 6:00 PM to hunt.

As a approached the stand I realized that there was a bear at the bait. What a rush - I stalked up on it and had it in my cross hairs a dozen times but there was a bit of brush in the way every time. I finally got in a clear spot at about 30 yards and the bear moved off into the bush. I crouched under the stand for about 20 minutes then quietly climbed up. After about 40 min. the bear came in. As he walked right at me I plugged him in the last vertibrae before the scull. Down he went at 15 yards without a twitch.

192 lb
160 lb dressed

Once again Ray - Your the man.

3 1/2 Weeks Later ----------------------------

Have a look at what I shot in my back yard.

The dog groweled and I went outside to check out why. I went into the back yard and came face to face with this beast at 15 feet from me huffing loudly. I slowly backed up and went in the house and got the gun. It was all over from there.

Congrats!!! with bears like that around your house....watch your kids when they are outside! please try to either drag the game away from the blood or clean up the animal a little before the pic, it would make for a much better presentation to be enjoyed by all.

Nice going!

If I had backyard bears, my son wouldn't be allowed to go and play on his swings without carrying a rifle. LOL

Agreed - (for site image) But I figure if it don't bother me, to bad for those who it does. Its a part of the hunt that I think shouldn't nesisarily be hidden away like it doen't exist. My 4 year old daughter can handle it just fine.

Where I lived in New Brunswick in high school, it is the law that all transported game must be visable durring transport. Funny how here in ontario some are offended by such a display.
