predator vanes

Post by crazyfarmer »

anyone have a chance to try some of these? Duravane makes them and I bought a package of 50 yesterday to try on some arrows. Ive read where most say they fly just like blazers but they arent quite a tall. .5 vs .6 in height LOL

The biggest difference is the price.. about 4bucks difference for a pack of 36

im gonna try some and see how they do anyway

I made up one to try and I cant see a difference. Same POI every shot. Very stable in flight. Almost looked more stable than the blazers, but its probably just my mind. From 20 to 50 yards it was hitting the same spot as the blazers. These vanes actaully feel a tad stiffer then blazers also. The blazers weighed 6grains and these were 7grains.

Im making up 4 firebolts with wraps if anyone wants some with these vanes :D

Sounds interesting . I have been using blazers and find them a bit expensive . Do the big 3 carry them ? ( basspro , cabelas , gander )

farmer, I got these from bass pro.. 9 bucks for 50

here are 4 I just fletched up forsale LOL

276-275 grains per shaft without fieldtip

The only difference in these vanes and the blazers are that the blazers have a straight vane line while these kinda round out. But I cant find any difference in flight. Im pretty sure im gonna switch to these since the one im testing is flying PERFECT 8)

How much do you want for the four pack? Brass or aluminum inserts?

These have the aluminum inserts. I have to get 8.50 each plus the actaul shipping. Im only making a buck off each arrow by the time I get the supplies. Im just doign this because I love fletching them up at night when its nothing to do. I have a few others forsale also which ill post in the sales section soon. I take my time on these. They arent sloppy like some arrows you get. I wipe the glue off if any seeps out under the vanes. But like any arrow, over time they inserts may loosen, but with this goat tuff glue they should never come out! Anything I make, I would hunt with myself. Let me know if you are interested.. Also, these have a 2 degree offset. Just barely noticable but enough to help with big bheads.

the above are others I have forsale.. all but the 4inch vane ones were made last night
