Had a small 4 point walk down the field I was sitting on. Only got to within 60 yards then slowly walked into the bush. He didn't spook but he did stare in my direction a few times.

I have to go to Kingston tomorrow so It'll be Friday for me before I can get out for my first hunt~!

Cold and wet. Didn't see a single deer, but when the sun came up a big heron came and sat in the river beside me, I watched him for a while, he didn't have much luck either.
I decided to take a short cut off the river up the cliffs edge, turned out to be a mistake.
It was a great morning no matter how I look at it though. :D

Was out early (6:20am) didn't get light 'til 7. Went to a tree we setup night before and voice came out. You might want to go down a couple more trees there is someone here already. When it's pitch dark you don't see well. The night before it was pitch dark when we set up at "the perfect tree" not seeing the "perfect tree" beside had a stand in it already.  Well we setup else where and didn't see anything other then geese that wanted to come in. When we left 5 others hunters popped out of the woodwork   we talked nicely and the "perfect tree" fella saw 5 deer in the field on the other side ,no shot. They were a little upset by action but didn't say anything. We do have permission but will move to bush beside this one as we have permission and they don't. :D :D :D :D A little tighter bush re-planted 30 years ago in evergreen ,but prime turkey and deer. 8) 8) Taking down tree stand first.

I hunted the early hunt and it was unusually cold. No deer to be seen.

My son did get a nice buck (his first deer and he just started bowhunting) in the late afternoon. His first time in a stand ........ beginners luck??? :D

Pydpiper.. If your as half a patient as those Great Blue heron than your gonna do just fine. Those birds can sit a stand like the rest of us dream about. 8)
