OT / Big Turtle

Post by saxman »

Coming out of one of my stands the other day I came accross this big ole boy.
Excuse the southern (cute) Accent
It's hard to tell how big he is untill you see my shadow.
He was big

The armour scales on his legs are the size of my thumbnails or larger
I think it's a gopher turtle but not sure

Hard to judge it's size. Next time try sticking your finger right in front of it's snout for a size referance.

I dont think they are aggressive like the Gator Snappers, they have a bad attitude and a worse bite.My son found an average size one in the yard one day and I used a broom to get it back to the creek,It snapped the broom handle in half, twice in about 1.5 seconds,I let him stay a while.

I wouldnt want to find out though
I think they are vegitarian,I will check
