first excal deer [some blood in photo]

Post by hunter 740 »

I went out late yesterday because of the heat.I set up below a small white oak grove at the edge of a clear cut.Iwas there about 20 minutes when I heard the un mistakable sound of deer moving in the heavy under brush. The only deer to step out of the brush was this doe.She is an older mature doe,you might not be able to tell by the photo because she is thin, she was very edgey, walking, stoping and checking the woods every few steps.I let her walk about 15 yards until she broadside and a fifteen yard shot. The muzzy four blade hundred grain broadhead struck gold with a complete passthrough and stuck in the hillside past her.She went around a hundred yards back in the clearcut through some of toughest thicket you've ever seen .She did'nt even follow any trails she made her own. It took alot of hard work to find her in the brush and to drag her out so it was late by the time I got her tagged in 10:15 pm so if the picture posts its not a real good picture.Hats off to excal for making the best xbows on the market.http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq23 ... 1223832328

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure will be nice when Ohio goes to the online check-in in 2010. I had to drive 30 miles (round trip) to check in a turkey this morning. :(
